Join Team Boughey as a LGV Technician – Days

We are currently recruiting an LGV Technician within our Garage team, based at our main site in Wardle.

Working as a LGV Technician you will maintain and repair the commercial vehicle fleet to a high standard
exceeding the minimum requirements of DVSA guidelines in line with Company procedures. Volvo and
other product training will be provided if required .

Key Responsibilities:

  • To carry out routine safety inspections, servicing, all repairs and defect rectification
    to any vehicle or trailer.
  • To accurately record all work completed with time taken to enable such work to be
    recharged to the appropriate cost centre.
  • To accurately complete all maintenance and repair record sheets.
  • To Inspect, service, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical defects on all vehicles
  • To accurately complete all required paperwork and documentation.
  • Adhere to strict maintenance schedules and meet given deadlines.
  • To work in a professional, logical and safe manner at all times.
  • To keep the work area safe, clean and tidy.
  • Adopt a flexible working approach and be a team player at all times.
  • There may be a requirement to support the warehouse team with the repair to the
    company engineering plant including warehouse equipment such as racking (fixed
    and mobile), dock levelers, safety gates, barriers and fixtures.
  • Support and deliver on the Company mission, vision and live and promote the Company values.
  • Liaise with relevant internal stakeholders to maintain the highest standards with due
    regard to Customer requirements and in line with HARA, BRCGS and any other
    internal or external legislation/ audits.
  • To be aware of and adhere to the Company’s Health & Safety Policy, taking responsibility
    for the Health, Safety, environmental and welfare of yourself and others in your
    departments.

What we are looking for:

  • Be a fully skilled LGV technician, through a relevant recognised formal training programme.
  • Have a methodical and quality focus to problem solving.
  • A positive attitude towards work and employee engagement, with the ability to bu
  • Reliable, on time and always ready to achieve the company tasks and responsibilities.
  • A team player who is honest, hardworking, works well under pressure and communicates well.
  • Has a strong attention for detail.
  • Ability to be self-driven and highly motivated.
  • Understanding and appreciation for safe manual handling practices and is Health & Safety aware.
  • Possession of a valid C + E licence would be an advantage.
  • Specific knowledge of Volvo LGV’s would be a distinct advantage but not essential.

  • Shift Patterns: – 4 on 4 off days – 07:00 hours to 19:00 hours – 48 hours per week
  • Salary: – £43,680.00 per annum – paid weekly
