We’re pleased to announce that Sarah Hall, our ESG & Quality Manager, has been selected as a finalist for the Sustainability Champion Award at Everywoman’s Transport and Logistics National Awards. The shortlist recognises the five candidates for their excellent work within sustainability. These finalists, from different businesses within the industry, are all due to attend the awards ceremony at the Park Plaza in London on the 27th of June for a celebration lunch.
The Everywoman awards celebrate women from all over the UK in our industry, recognising their success in a once male-dominated sector. The Sustainability Champion category includes nominees who are experts in sustainability from all over the country. The award is judged by a team of industry experts and required a formal interview where Sarah answered questions on Boughey’s application to B Corp and her goals for the future.
Sarah’s journey to her current role as ESG & Quality Manager began when our Managing Director, Angela Carus, took over the company in 2022. Since then, Sarah has led initiatives aimed at minimising our carbon footprint and waste, enabling Boughey to provide a more sustainable service for our customers, colleagues, and community. Her role has been instrumental in our bid for B Corp certification, a milestone that, if achieved, will make us one of, if not the first distribution company in the UK to attain this prestigious certification. Alongside the process to become part of the movement, Sarah has trained to become a B Corp mentor, giving her the knowledge to guide other companies and customers to become part of the B Corp movement.
Our most recent Impact report outlines the strategies and initiatives we have put in place during our development in sustainability and our goals for the future.
Sarah began her pursuit of sustainability in 2008 when she was appointed as a SHE Administrator at E.ON, where she had worked for the previous 7 years. Her role was to provide health, safety, and environmental administration supporting the central networks across E.ON. Sarah also gained managerial and industry experience at West Coast Network Services, Hughes Carlisle Law Ltd, and Mark Wakefield Demolition.
Join us in congratulating Sarah, wishing her the best of luck as she represents Boughey at the Everywoman’s Transport and Logistics National Awards.
