Company appoints new Finance Director

New Finance Director Alex Hall

The company has appointed Alex Hall as its new Finance Director. He joins from GXO Logistics and takes over the role following the retirement of Ian Sherratt who has held the post of Finance Director for the last ten years.

Alex began his career with Wincanton as an Assistant Accountant in their foodservice business before progressing to the role of Finance Manager supporting a number of the company’s largest contracts.

Following ten years with Wincanton, Alex moved to US firm XPO Logistics, initially as a Finance Business Partner before stepping up to become the Head of Finance of one of their UK Business Units. He went on to hold this position for two other XPO Business Units before moving to the newly-created GXO Logistics, as part of the company’s spin-off from XPO in 2021.

In his new role, Alex will lead the company’s finance team responsible for financial planning and analysis, and accounting activities, as well as supporting the business deliver positive financial results. He will also report on Boughey’s financial performance into the NWF Group’s Board of Directors.

Alex is a CIMA qualified accountant and is currently studying for an Executive MBA at the University of Manchester’s Alliance Business School.

Away from work, Alex is a dyed-in-the-wool Wigan Athletic fan; he’s part of three generations of season ticket holders along with his young son and his dad.
