The company’s Warehouse Productivity Analyst, Ionela Tone has been shortlisted for the Warehousing Above and Beyond Award at Everywoman’s Transport and Logistics national Awards. Ionela joined a shortlist of four other women from other businesses and will now attend the awards Lunch at the Londoner Hotel in the capital on the 28th of June.
The Everywomen awards celebrate women from all over the UK, in different industries, recognising their success in once male-dominated fields. The Warehousing Above and Beyond category nominees were judged by a team of industry experts. Ionela was judged on her character, specific achievements, statistics and her positive impact on the business.
Ionela grew up in Romania, gaining a postgraduate level education in accountancy from Bucharest University of Economic Studies. After the birth of her first child, she took time off to be a mother and later returned to work in the logistics industry.
In 2019, she moved to England and started at Boughey in 2020 as a Warehouse Operative. Ionela’s leadership qualities were soon recognised and she was promoted to Team Leader. During her time in the warehouse, Ionela often pointed out ways to improve processes to increase productivity. Before long, Warehouse Operations Director, Danny Earp, was impressed by these suggestions, gave Ionela a brand-new role to implement change.
Speaking about Ionela’s success, Danny Earp said, “We are all extremely proud of Ionela, she has taken her role to new heights. As a company, we did very little to analyse productivity before Ionela took on this responsibility.
“She has taken the role far beyond anything we imagined it would be when we brought her on-board. Her outstanding tenacity and motivation allow her to work with her colleagues to get the best out of them.
“We all wish Ionela the best of luck for the final, her shortlisting is well deserved.”
