The company has been shortlisted for the major award at the 2022 Motor Transport Awards – the road transport industry’s ‘Oscars’.
The ‘Haulier of the Year’ accolade is open to HGV operators running eleven or more trucks and is considered to be the ultimate mark of excellence in road freight transport. Boughey has been shortlisted alongside three other companies and will join them at the awards’ dinner to be staged at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 7th September.
The finalists’ submissions were assessed on customer service excellence, adapting to evolving market conditions, environmental sustainability, commitment to safety, staff welfare, commercial strategy and operational standards.
Boughey has experienced unprecedented levels of demand over the last two years, particularly during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic when consumers were panic buying. Managing fluctuations and exceptional operational demands meant that the company had to adapt quickly to changing market forces.
Commenting on being shortlisted for the Haulier of the Year Award, Managing Director Angela Carus said, “We are all proud and honoured to have been shortlisted for the major award at this year’s Motor Transport Awards.
“Most importantly, being shortlisted is a fantastic tribute to our great team of people. Like so many companies in our industry, we have experienced a very challenging couple of years managing the volatility resulting from the pandemic and we couldn’t have done this without our colleagues who went the extra mile to deliver for our customers.
“We’re all now looking forward to the finalists’ dinner in September.”
